The betting public isn’t a fan of the New York baseball teams’ prospects for the 2024 season.
The Yankees and Mets are among the most-bet teams to miss the playoffs, according to data from BetMGM Sportsbook.
The pair trails only the defending champion Rangers in terms of tickets for them to fall short of the postseason.
Both teams have seen their preseason win total dip since opening as well.
The Yankees have had one of the biggest over/under declines in baseball, dropping from 93.5 wins to 91.5 after a number of injuries have cropped up late this spring.
The division rival Orioles, meanwhile, have had the largest increase in the majors, going from 87.5 to 90.5 wins at BetMGM.
The Bronx Bombers remain a solid postseason contender, though, according to oddsmakers.
Only the Astros (-500) have better postseason odds than the Yankees (-250) in the American League.
They are dead even with the Orioles in the AL East at +180.
The Yankees have garnered the second-fewest bets at BetMGM to win the AL East, ahead of only the Red Sox, who are the only team in the division projected to finish below .500.
Over in Queens, the Mets’ win total has dropped from 82.5 to 81.5 wins after a disappointing 75-win season in 2023 and a quiet offseason.
It’s their lowest full-season over/under since 2014, according to Sports Odds History.
