Will There Be A ‘Tracker’ Season 2?

Justin Hartley may have bid goodbye to This is Us, but the TV star has another hit on his hands with the CBS show Tracker, which has earned some impressive viewership over the last few months, boding well for its future.

CBS was recently named the most-watched network on television for the 16th season in a row, with an average of 5.59 million viewers each night, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The outlet credits this year’s record-breaking Super Bowl broadcast as well as Tracker, which debuted right after the big game.

The thrilling new series stars Hartley as Colter Shaw, a survivalist who helps citizens and law enforcement solve crimes while grappling with his own estranged family.

In its final episodes, the show began shedding some light on Shaw’s mysterious family. The May 5 episode starred Manifest actress Melissa Roxburgh as Colter’s sister Dr. Dory Shaw, who works as a professor at the nearby university who helps him investigate the disappearance of a missing grad student.

Supernatural and The Boys actor Jensen Ackles also joined the cast as Russell Shaw, Colter’s estranged bother, in Tracker‘s May 12 episode.

As Tracker‘s first season comes to a close, fans are wondering if there’s more in store. Will there be a Tracker Season 2? Here’s everything we know.

Will there be a Tracker Season 2?

Yes! Tracker was renewed by CBS in March, marking the network’s first series renewal of the year.

Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it.”

She continued, “We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”

It also appears that the show will return during the 2024-2025 season as CBS recently announced its upcoming programming lineup. It will maintain its 9 pm time slot on Sundays.

Hartley serves as executive producer on the show, alongside Ken Olin, Elwood Reid, and Ben H. Winters.
