The Hallmark Channel has announced that When Calls the Heart will return for its 12th season on Sunday, January 5, at 9/8c.
The premiere date was revealed in an unexpected teaser that aired during Erin Krakow’s Christmas movie Santa Tell Me, which also stars her former co-star, Daniel Lissing. You can catch the Season 12 preview below.
In September, Hallmark also shared exciting news about the addition of Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie, Sweet Justice, Secrets and Lies), who will appear in a two-episode storyline as Georgie McGill. Her character is said to have a surprising connection to one of the residents of Hope Valley.
Alongside Krakow and Kevin McGarry, the show’s dedicated fanbase will also be reunited with stars Pascale Hutton (Fourth Down and Love), Jack Wagner (Melrose Place), Chris McNally (Holiday Crashers), Kavan Smith (Big Sky River: The Bridal Path), and Viv Leacock (Legend of the Lost Locket).
As Hallmark’s longest-running original series, When Calls the Heart is set to deliver 12 episodes in Season 12. The renewal announcement came during the airing of Season 11, which took viewers through the 1920s in Hope Valley.
The season followed Elizabeth Thornton (Krakow) as she embraced a new chapter in her life, including romance, challenges, and personal growth. Her relationship with Mountie Nathan Grant (McGarry) deepened as they navigated their evolving feelings and faced the hurdles of parenthood together.
When Calls the Heart Season 11 proved to be a major hit, becoming the most-watched entertainment cable series of the year among households, total viewers, and women 18 and older.
