ABC News, “This Week”:
The White House’s John Kirby joined host Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week” to follow up on a speech made earlier in the week by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) – during which Schumer railed against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called for new elections in Israel.
Kirby explained that it was “up to the Israeli government that they elect to determine whether and how, if there’s going to be new elections, what that would look like.”

CBS News, “Face the Nation”:
Former Vice President Mike Pence joined host Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation,” and he said that despite the disagreements and bad blood that has passed between them, he had forgiven former President Donald Trump. “As a Christian I’m required to do that,” he said. “I’ve prayed for him in that regard.”
Pence went on to say that he did not plan to endorse his former running mate, but did not say who he planned to vote for in the 2024 presidential election — which currently appears to be a likely rematch between Trump and President Biden.

Kara Swisher joined “Face the Nation” to talk about the brouhaha over TikTok and efforts to ban the app or force parent company ByteDance to sell, and she made it clear that she herself was concerned about the influence the Chinese Communist Party had over the app’s day-to-day functions.
“I feel like every Chinese company I’ve covered has had the tentacles of the Chinese Communist Party involved in it, whether they like it or not,” Swisher said, explaining why she only accessed the app on a burner phone.

Brennan noted that President Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign had been using TikTok on the trail, complicating Congressional efforts to rein in the Chinese Communist Party’s influence over the popular video app.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) pushed back, saying, “Look, I’m not going to tell the president how to campaign.”

CNN, “State of the Union”:
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) responded to a speech made earlier in the week by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) – during which he criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called for new elections in Israel to potentially replace him — and said that he would not have taken things quite that far.
Schiff did say that Schumer’s comments “should be an earthquake in Israel,” suggesting that they should take the New York Senator’s speech seriously.
Schiff’s assessment comes just days after President Joe Biden, when asked about Schumer’s remarks, said only that he had given “a good speech.”

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) defended Senator Schumer’s comments, suggesting that he was not pushing for Netanyahu’s ouster so much as simply “advocating for elections in a democracy.”
She went on to say that even if Israel was to move ahead with a new election, it would be entirely up to the voters there to determine who was best to lead them.

NBC News, “Meet the Press”:
“Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker spoke with Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Ben Cardin (D-MD), who made it clear that members of both parties have shown support for a plan to force parent company ByteDance to sell off TikTok.
“I’m certainly predisposed to vote for it,” Cassidy said – and Cardin added, “I’m certainly sympathetic to it.”
A measure aimed at forcing ByteDance to sell the popular social media app has already passed the House of Representatives.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) joined anchor Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday,” where he weighed in on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s criticisms of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I was with the Ambassador, Herzog, from Israel at our retreat when this news came in,” McCaul said. “It was very inappropriate, I think it was embarrassing. You know, there’s a way to talk about your differences — not to topple a government in a democratic country.”
McCaul went on to say that it was “indicative of the split in the Democratic Party” when it came to support for Israel in the ongoing war with the terror group Hamas.

Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki lamented the change-in-command at the Republican National Committee, following the exit of former Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel — and she claimed that it was all a ruse to create an apparatus designed to keep former President Donald Trump in power.
“It’s becoming apparent that a Trump-run RNC is not actually about the traditional role of voter outreach and turnout. It is about suppressing the vote and planning ahead for how to keep Donald Trump in power,” Psaki complained.
Since taking her position as co-chair, Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump announced that she planned to work with activist Scott Presler – who has built a reputation for his efforts to register new Republican voters in swing states.
