Jill Duggar has suffered a heartbreaking stillbirth.
The reality star, 32, and her husband, Derick Dillard, 35, shared the news in an Instagram post published on Saturday.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard,” the pair shared. “Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero.”
“From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby,” the couple continued. “Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world.”
Duggar, who married Dillard in a 2014 TV wedding on “19 Kids and Counting,” already share three boys — Israel, 9, Samuel, 6, and Freddy, 21 months — together.
“We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie 😭,” Duggar and Dillard added in the Instagram post.
The post featured a photo of of the pair holding a picture of their daughter wrapped in a pink blanket.
Several people reached out to the couple to express their sympathy.
“We love you all. We are continuing to pray. Isla Marie is so loved. Forever our first girl,” wrote Duggar’s mother-in-law Dena.
“Love you so much, sis. Continuing to uphold you all in prayer. Sweet little Isla will be missed,” Duggar’s sister, Jinger, wrote.
“Isla Marie is such a beautiful name. We are so sorry for your loss, and praying for your sweet family. Love you all,” a second person wrote. I’m so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine. Covering you guys in prayer,” a third person chimed in.
The terrible news for the family comes just months after Duggar revealed that she and her husband have distanced themselves from the much of her biological family.
During a January appearance on “The Unplanned Podcast,” the reality star said couldn’t remember the last time she had seen her father, with Dillard adding that it was “probably” when their son Frederick was born in July 2022.
Duggar said that they may have had a run-in with family members at a “wedding or birthday thing” but it had been before the release of her bombshell memoir “Counting the Cost” which was released in September 2023.
In the best-selling book, Duggar sheds light on her childhood and the secrets behind the “cult-like” religious teachings she was raised with, known as the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP).
The tell-all book came shorty after Duggar’s brother, Josh, was jailed for receiving and possessing child porn.
Josh, 34, was found guilty of the crimes in December 2021 following a six-day trial and is currently serving a 151 month sentence.
