Watch Jamie Foxx’s return to ‘Beat Shazam’ after health scare

Jamie Fox is back to his hosting gig on Fox’s “Beat Shazam” — after beating a headline-making health scare. 

In Page Six’s exclusive first look at Season 7 of the reality competition series, the actor, 56, reprises his role alongside daughter Corinne Fox — who is returning as co-host and DJ. 

“I’m back for an all new season of ‘Beat Shazam,” Corinne says in the clip, while Jamie adds with a smile, “Uh, yeah, and I’m back too!”

In Page Six’s exclusive first look at Season 7 of the reality competition series, the actor reprises his role alongside daughter Corinne Fox — who is returning as co-host and DJ. 

The preview goes on to laud Jamie’s “highly anticipated return to television” as scenes of him hosting the show flash onscreen. 

“Jamie and Corinne are the heart and soul of ‘Beat Shazam,’” Allison Wallach, FOX Entertainment’s President of Unscripted Entertainment, enthuses in a statement. 

“As our undeniably dynamic father-daughter hosting team,” the network exec continues, “they bring a relationship like no other to a show like no other, and it’s wonderful having them back on set this season.”

During the Foxxes’ absence, Nick Cannon guest-hosted while Kelly Osbourne filled in as the DJ.

Jamie’s comeback comes more than a year after battling a mastery illness for which he was hospitalized on April 11, 2023. 

The movie star’s daughter, Corinne, 30, was the one to reveal the news of his health scare, prompting celebrity friends like Tracy Morgan, Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington and LeBron James to share well wishes for a speedy recovery via social media.

Opposing reports about the state of Foxx’s health and hospitalization ensued. However, on May 3, 2023, the “Blame It” singer assured fans he was in the process of healing in an Instagram post. 

Meanwhile, Corinne hit back at online speculation that Jamie was “preparing for the worst” amid his unnamed condition. 

“Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on May 12, 2023.

“In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!” she added. “Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”

Though declining to share exactly what exactly he was suffering from, Jamie told fans that July that he was never blind or paralyzed despite rampant rumors. 

“I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through,” he explained at the time. 

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man.”

“Beat Shazam” returns for Season 7 on Tuesday, May 28, on Fox.
