Harvard University students chanted “Palestine is Arab” on Monday during an “emergency die-in” protest this week on the Widener Library steps, the latest radical anti-Israel protest at the Ivy League institution.
A student organizer taught students a chant in Arabic which translates to “from water to water, Palestine is Arab,” according to video obtained by The Daily Wire of the protest. It is a more extreme variation of the “from the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free” chant often used by pro-Palestinian radicals in cities across the United States, and is likewise seen as a call for ethnic cleansing of the Jewish and other non-Arab populations that live in Israel.

The event was co-hosted by several Harvard student groups and consisted of students chanting and then laying on the stairs.
“As of 2:30 am, hundreds of people have been martyred or injured by Israeli attacks on Gaza’s last “safe zone,” the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee student group posted to Instagram advertising the event. “Harvard has bankrolled this action with its hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for companies complicit in Israeli apartheid, making us as students complicit.”

Harvard student Shabbos Kestenbaum, who is currently suing the school for enabling anti-semitism, told The Daily Wire that the chant is part of a bigger pattern of anti-Semitsm at Harvard.
“In the last two weeks, I have had a Harvard employee taunt me with a machete, been removed without warning from a Harvard student forum for suggesting students pressure Hamas to release kidnapped babies, had to walk through an unsanctioned protest with people yelling ‘Palestine will be Arab’ on my way to class, been ignored by Harvard’s DEI committee have anti-Semites being promoted as guest lectures in class, and more,” he told The Daily Wire.
“Anti-Semitism is not a problem at Harvard, it is quite literally a feature,” he added.
Harvard University has been under mounting criticism for its response to Hamas’ massacre, including the university parting ways with its former president, Claudine Gay, as she dealt with backlash over her public statements about combatting antisemitism on campus.
Anti-Israel Harvard groups hosted a similar protest last week that was interrupted by Korean Christians who blasted worship music and loudly defended Israel as the students chanted “from the river to the sea.”
“What is happening at Harvard right now is something that is not normal,” the group’s pastor Joseph Kim said through a translator on a blaring microphone next to the anti-Israel protest. “Harvard is broken down, and so liberal…so we’re here to actually heal that.”
