Valerie Bertinelli and her boyfriend Mike Goodnough are now red carpet official.
The couple walked the carpet at the 2024 Daytime Emmys, where Bertinelli, 63, was up for outstanding culinary host for her former Food Network series, “Valerie’s Home Cooking,” Friday evening.
She stunned in a white blazer and flared trousers set and accessorized with gold jewelry and a matching clutch.
Goodnough stood proudly by her side in a black suit with a matching button-down layered under his blazer. He paired the all-black ensemble with white and black sneakers.
The pair appeared to be smitten as they posed together, sometimes holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes.
“There’s very little better than seeing somebody you love get the recognition, get the roses,” he gushed to People on the red carpet outside the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles.
In addition to a hosting nod, Bertinelli’s show, which was cancelled in 2023 after 14 seasons, was also nominated for outstanding culinary series.
Goodnough, a writer who became acquainted with the celebrity chef a few years ago by direct messaging her on Instagram, explained how excited he was to support her at the Emmys in an Instagram video he shared Thursday.
“Tomorrow and Saturday, I get to be Valerie’s ‘and guest’ at the awards ceremony… and I’m going to be the happiest ‘+1’ in the place,” he captioned the clip.
“The nominations are such a deserved honor. Winning would just be icing on the cake,” he continued. “Regardless, I’m just so happy for Valerie… and so happy I get to be her.”
Goodnough shared a similar sentiment when he wrote about their relationship on his Substack site in April.
“I am Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend… and that may well be among the most surreal sentences I’ve ever pecked out,” he humbly penned. “But it’s true… and nothing about our actual relationship seems surreal. It just seems… good… lucky… a gift.”
By that time, Bertinelli had confirmed she was “in love.”
She also gushed that she was “incredibly grateful” for her new boyfriend while speaking to USA Today in March.
“It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man,” she added. “I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him because I wasn’t expecting it.”
The sweet couple went Instagram official on April 20.
The “Indulge” author was previously married to Tom Vitale. They finalized their divorce in 2022 after 10 years of marriage.
She was also famously married to rock legend Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007.
He died in 2020 from complications related to throat cancer. They shared one son named Wolfgang.
