A passing driver unleashed a fire extinguisher on an unsuspecting NYPD traffic agent as the officer sat in his patrol car in Harlem, shocking new video shows.
The incident happened around 6:50 a.m. Thursday, while the agent was driving a marked NYPD cruiser north on Saint Nicholas Avenue near 118th Street. That’s when a four-door sedan pulled up next to him, the footage shows.
A front seat passenger in the sedan can be seen holding a fire extinguisher in his lap. He then yells “Yo!” at the agent — before spraying into the cop car’s open window.
The people in the sedan can be heard in the clip laughing and driving away as music plays in the background.
A fully-masked man in the back seat then appears to say, “Lord Diablo” repeatedly, referencing the devil.
The clip, posted on Instagram, has 739 likes and was forwarded 4,107 times.
The agent, 43, had an eye injury as a result, the NYPD said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
