Donald Trump played coy Thursday when asked during a radio interview whether he is “still 100% with Israel” following his remarks last month warning the Jewish state to “finish up” its war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
“You have to get back to normalcy and peace. The whole world is blowing up with this idiot president we have,” the former president, 77, told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt.
“He’s an idiot. He’s the dumbest president we’ve ever had. He’s the most corrupt, and he’s the most incompetent. And he’s the worst president we’ve ever had by a factor,” Trump added of his election rival. “If you add up the ten worst presidents in history, they haven’t done the damage that this guy’s done.”
“Are you still 100% with Israel?” Hewitt asked. “And what’s your advice to [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu beyond ‘Get it over with in a hurry?’”
“Well, that’s all the advice you can give,” Trump answered. “I mean, that’s the advice. You’ve got to get it over with, and you have to get back to normalcy.”
The former president added that “I’m not sure that I’m loving the way” Israel is conducting its offensive and managing the global response.
“You have to have a victory, and it’s taking a long time,” he said. “And the other thing is I hate, they put out tapes all the time. Every night, they’re releasing tapes of a building falling down. They shouldn’t be releasing tapes like that. They’re doing, that’s why they’re losing the PR war. They, Israel is absolutely losing the PR war.”
Since departing the White House, Trump has soured on Netanyahu, whining that he “let us down” by acknowledging Biden’s victory in the 2020 election.
“They’ve got to finish what they started, and they’ve got to finish it fast, and we have to get on with life,” Trump repeated.
Elsewhere in his interview with Hewitt, Trump implied that Biden was the culprit who left cocaine in the West Wing this past summer.
“You know that white stuff that they happened to find, which happened to be cocaine in the White House?” Trump mused in response to a question from Hewitt about whether Biden would agree to debate him. “I don’t know, I think something’s going on there, because I watched this State of the Union, and he was all jacked up at the beginning. By the end, he was fading fast. There’s something going on there.
“I want to debate,” the 45th president reiterated. “And I think debates, with him, at least, should be drug tested. I want a drug test.”
“Are you suggesting President Biden’s using cocaine?” Hewitt asked.
“I don’t know what he’s using, but that was not, hey, he was higher than a kite,” Trump answered, later adding: “He’s obviously, he’s being helped some way, because most of the time, he looks like he’s falling asleep. And all of a sudden, he walked up there and did a poor job. But he was all jacked up.”
Last summer, the Secret Service publicly announced it had closed the investigation into the cocaine discovery without identifying a suspect due to a “lack of physical evidence.”
Heading into the Nov. 5 election, one major unknown is who Trump will tap as his running mate.
“I have a list,” Trump teased. “I’m going to pick somebody that’s going to, most importantly … [be a] good president.”
“It’s got to be somebody that can be a good president, which Biden doesn’t have. Biden has one of the worst people,” he added, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris. “I think she becomes a very big part of the campaign.”
