David Beckham has no doubt that Travis Kelce can swallow his newfound fame amid the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s relationship with Taylor Swift.
“Do you ever talk to, like, Travis Kelce and say, ‘Hey, man, here’s what you have to expect’?” Jimmy Kimmel asked Beckham on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday of the pressure of being in the spotlight.
The retired soccer star, 49, replied by saying that he thinks the three-time Super Bowl champion, 34, “can handle it” just fine.
“We know Taylor can definitely handle it,” he added.
Beckham also reflected on his own struggles with being in the public eye, which he addressed at length in his Netflix docuseries, “Beckham,” which premiered last October.
“I think that surprised a lot of people,” he said of the rampant media attention he dealt with in the UK before moving to the United States. “Through that time, it was difficult.”
The Inter Miami CF president went on to share a sweet story that allowed him to have some closure with the vulturous tabloids across the pond.
“Recently, we were in a pub in London, and I came out and on the windscreen on my car was a note, no name on it, just, ‘We’re so sorry for the way we treated you,’” he shared. “I liked that.”

“Signed everyone,” Kimmel, 56, joked of the entire press.
Beckham made a name for himself on the soccer field, but he launched into stardom due to his high-profile relationship with Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham.
Despite the hardships of dealing with fame, the couple have remained strong. They tied the knot in 1999 and share four kids: Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12.
Similarly, Kelce already had a massive fan base due to his stellar skills as an NFL player.
However, the athlete became an A-lister after confirming his relationship with Swift, also 34, in September 2023.
Since then, Kelce can’t go anywhere public without being flocked by fans and paparazzi.
The “Fortnight” singer and the footballer secretly started dating last summer, and sources told Page Six exclusively that they are due to get engaged around their first anniversary.
“Taylor and Travis discussed it, and there is a plan,” one insider told us in January, adding, “They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July.”
