Tom Brady appears to admit to Deflategate role during Netflix roast

It took a roast for Tom Brady to potentially admit to Deflategate.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback seemed to confess to his role in it when it was finally his turn to roast the people who had spent the previous three hours taking shots at him during “The Roast of Tom Brady” airing live on Netflix Sunday night from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

“Remember Deflategate?” Brady asked. “The NFL spent $20 million and found that it was more probable than not that I was generally aware and someone may have deflated my footballs. You could have just given me the $20 million and I would have just told you I f–king did it.

“You know what I’m saying boys? You know what I’m saying?”

Brady saying this at a roast leaves open the obvious possibility he was joking.

The Patriots were involved in one of the NFL’s most notorious scandals during the 2014-15 season after it was discovered that the footballs were underinflated in the first half of their win over the Colts in the AFC Championship game.

After a league investigation, Brady was suspended four games and the Patriots forfeited two draft picks.

Deflategate was just one of the topics that Brady hit at when he was finally able to speak during Sunday’s roast, with the seven-time Super Bowl champion taking aim at everyone from the Jets, Giants and even Kim Kardashian.

“Kim Kardashian, thank you so much for being here,” Brady said at one point. “I know Kim was terrified to be here tonight. Not because of this, but because her kids are home with their dad [Kanye West].”

No one seemed to be safe from Brady, not even his former head coach Bill Belichick.

Brady also made sure to take a shot at the Chiefs and the Taylor Swift connection, saying that the stadium is loud because it “helps when all your fans are 14-year-old girls.”

“In honor of Tay Tay, let’s take a look at the Chiefs Eras. Terrible for 50 years, good for 5. Shake it off,” Brady said.

The three-hour special on Netflix had a number of headline-making moments from Kevin Hart coming out hot with jokes about Brady’s recent divorce to Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft appearing to bury the hatchet.
