Tiger Woods launches new apparel company Sun Day Red after Nike split

Tiger Woods has officially launched his new apparel line.

The game’s biggest name launched his “Sun Day Red” brand in partnership with TaylorMade on Monday night at an event ahead of this week’s Genesis Invitational.

The launch of the golf icon’s new apparel brand comes after he had announced in January that he was ending his 27-year relationship with Nike, which led to speculation of what Woods would do next.

“It’s the right time in my life,” Woods said Monday, according to the PGA Tour website. “It’s transitional. I’m not a kid anymore. I want to have a brand I’m proud of going forward.”

The name “Sun Day Red” first started circulating late last month after NUCLR GOLF discovered trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which were reviewed by The Post.

The new line will launch on May 1 and the “Sun Day Red” brand will be a separate business from TaylorMade with its own headquarters, staff and designers.

“It is independent from TaylorMade and it is run by an independent group of leaders that are part of my team – I couldn’t be more thrilled – so that we can focus on what matters on this brand most. … This brand will have its own identity,” TaylorMade CEO David Abeles said.

Woods has had a relationship with TaylorMade dating back to 2017 when he started using their clubs after Nike closed its golf equipment business.

The logo for the new brand features a tiger composed of 15 stripes to represent each of the major championships that Woods has won over the course of his career.

Abeles told the Wall Street Journal that if Woods was to win another major they would add a 16th stripe to the logo.

The clothing is being described as premium apparel that will have polo shirts that will cost between $115 and $135 and shoes that could cost more than $200, the outlet reported.

Red has become Woods’ signature over the course of his career, particularly on Sunday when he wears some variation of the color to compete after a suggestion by his mother Kultida.

“It started with mom,” Woods said at the launch event Monday. “Mom thought being a Capricorn that my power color was red, so I wore red as a junior golfer and I won some tournaments. Lo and behold, I go to a university that is red, Stanford is red. We wore red on the final day of every single tournament, and then every single tournament I’ve played as a professional I’ve worn red. It’s just become synonymous with me.”

All eyes will be on Woods this week at the Genesis Invitational as he returns from ankle surgery he had after having to pull out of last year’s Masters.
