The Hot Topics table was looking a little more like a high school classroom on this morning’s episode of The View — and Whoopi Goldberg was the teacher.
Toward the end of the broadcast, Goldberg attempted to introduce the panel’s final Hot Topic segment. However, she was soon cut off by Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin‘s giggling.
“A woman took to Reddit after she and a colleague drove eight hours to their coworker’s wedding,” Goldberg began, before getting cut off by the sound of her co-hosts’ laughter.
“You guys are passing notes on television? Can’t take you guys anywhere,” Alyssa Farah Griffin called out, before Sara Haines added, “I feel like I’m in church right now.”
Before segueing back to the topic at hand, Goldberg instructed Behar and Hostin to “share it with the rest of the class,” while a curious Haines added, “Definitely share it, Sunny!”
Still unable to collect herself, Hostin explained, “We can’t. Joy and I — we say things that are inappropriate.”
Behar then chimed in to stop her seat neighbor from divulging any more information.
“Don’t go any further Sunny,” the comedian demanded. “Silence is golden right now.”
Meanwhile, Goldberg stumbled through her reintroduction of the segment.
“I’m just trying to do our job,” she shaded as she turned to the audience and asked, “Do y’all remember what I said? So this lady — she and her friend drove to this wedding. She took a colleague for an hour — God bless you all!”
After Goldberg lost her place on the teleprompter, she advised Behar to finish up the explanation.
“[She went eight hours] from the U.K. to Edingborough,” she said. “So they go to the wedding. They find out they’re not invited to the reception — just to the church.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
