Tom Brady may be the biggest unknown this upcoming NFL season.
Not because he’ll be on the field, but because it will mark his first year in the broadcast booth with Fox.
Brady will make his first foray into broadcasting when he starts his new gig as part of Fox’s top NFL broadcast crew alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews.
How exactly Brady will do in the role is yet to be determined and plenty have already weighed in on how the future Hall of Famer will perform, but on Monday Brady himself gave a taste of what football fans should expect out of him.
Brady told Colin Cowherd during an interview that he is competitive in many areas of his career and life, but broadcasting would be about more than being competitive.
“Certainly, as a broadcaster, I don’t think for me it is about competition,” Brady said on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Monday. “I think for me, it’s about did I put everything I could into it? Did I give the fans everything that they tuned in for? That’s really how I’ll end up gaging myself. I’ll have to look at myself at the end of every Sunday night going did I do a good enough job? Did I live up to the belief that Fox had in me? Did I live up to the expectations that my teammates Kevin Burkhardt and Erin (Andrews) and Tom (Rinaldi)…and our entire truck and our entire team? That’s ultimately how I’ll judge myself in that new role.”
Brady will make his debut for the network on Sept, 8 when the Browns take on the Cowboys during the season’s opening weekend.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion had signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox in May 2022.
Brady will have the luxury of going into his new job with the full belief and support of his new teammates, Burkhardt and Andrews.
