The player prop pick to make for Game 4

Vincent Trocheck, one of the Rangers’ most reliable players, stepped up again in Game 3 Thursday night in Raleigh.

He picked up another two assists, one of which the game-winning dish to Artemi Panarin for a deflection.

Trocheck has notched at least one assist in all three victories over Carolina and six of seven playoff games.

He’s leading the Rangers with eight power play points — a product of his focal role as the bumper man in the top unit’s unyielding ability to generate looks on net.

Trocheck’s line with Panarin and Alexis Lafreniere always has been the most consistent at five-on-five for New York, and the three have produced five even-strength goals of the Rangers’ 11 overall total in the series.

We can talk about analytics until we’re blue in the face, but the disparity in top-end talent production is the real narrative.

Trocheck’s full-steam-ahead play has helped steal two games in this series.
