As Republicans celebrate their sweep of the House, Senate and White House, President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominations and personnel picks have provoked backlash from Democrats and even within the GOP itself.
These staffing announcements will likely be discussed on this weekend’s Sunday shows as Trump’s next administration shapes up.
Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” is set to host Donald Trump Jr., who’s made headlines in the last week, touting that he’ll be “heavily involved” with his father’s transition into the White House.
“I’m going to be heavily involved on the transition. I want to make sure now that we know who the real players are, the people who will actually deliver on the president’s message, the people who don’t think that they know better than the duly elected president of the United States,” Donald Trump Jr. said during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” last week.

Former Obama-era Defense secretary Chuck Hagel will appear on CBS News’s “Face the Nation,” where he will likely discuss the president-elect’s unexpected selection of Pete Hegseth, an Army veteran and a Fox News host, as Pentagon chief.
Hagel had sounded the alarm in a New York Times op-ed published Friday over Trump’s nomination, writing, “Political independence and ethics are the bedrock of our military.”
“Today, I am concerned that both are in danger,” he wrote. “If we begin to compromise those standards by politicizing the Department of Defense, the character of the military could change inexorably, putting its very effectiveness at risk.”
Fox News’s “Fox News Sunday” will welcome Delaware Sen. Chris Coons (D), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The committee has been in the spotlight in the last week as Trump’s pick for attorney general, former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), faced a probe from the House Ethics Committee for allegations of allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, which Gaetz has vehemently denied.
Soon after Trump’s nod, Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) urged the House Ethics Committee to “preserve and share” its report on Gaetz.
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will appear on Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures.” The former GOP presidential candidate was tapped alongside tech billionaire Elon Musk to lead a newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, which aims to “slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures,” as well as restructure federal agencies.
“We want to go in and slash and burn that bureaucracy to help Americans, stimulate the economy and to restore self-governance again,” Ramaswamy had told Fox News’s Sean Hannity last week.
Sen. Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) will appear on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday,” where he will discuss Trump’s appointments, the future of a third party and what the senator plans to do next after not seeking reelection. Manchin, a conservative Democrat, had officially filed as an independent earlier this year, citing partisanship jeopardizing democracy as part of his reasoning.
