Porn actor Stormy Daniels’s husband said there is a “good chance” the couple would leave the U.S. if former President Trump is acquitted in the hush money case.
“I don’t think it gets better for her. I think if [he] is not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance we’ll probably vacate this country,” Barrett Blade told CNN’s Erin Burnett during his Tuesday appearance on “OutFront.”
Blade emphasized that even if the former president is convicted in the Manhattan case where he faces 34 felony counts, Daniels would still face severe backlash from the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s backers.
He added the couple would love to “get on” with their lives, but he expressed doubt if that will ever happen.
“I don’t see it as a win situation either way,” Blade said Tuesday. “I know that we would like to get on with our lives. I know that she wants to move past this. We just want to do what I guess you’d say normal people get to do, in some aspects. But I don’t know if that ever will be, you know, and it breaks my heart.”
“It breaks my heart some of the things that she has to go through that people don’t realize, he said.
Daniels in testimony at Trump’s trial last week provided salacious details about her sexual encounter with Trump. Trump’s lawyer Susan Necheles tried to deflate Daniels’s credibility during cross-examination, accusing the porn actor of falsifying the encounter to make a profit and portraying her as an unreliable witness.
Trump is charged with having his former fixer, Michael Cohen, pay Daniels $130,000 toward the end of the 2016 presidential campaign to keep her from publicizing the affair she claims she had with Trump in 2006.
Trump has denied the charges and the affair. The presumptive GOP nominee is accused of covering up the hush money payment made to Daniels by writing it off as a legal expense.
