It’ll be a sellers’ market with demand generally outweighing supply, but there should be several solid or better closers available.
Though the weakest teams don’t have many great starters, they do have closers. The top guys:
1. Tanner Scott, Marlins: The veteran lefty is on a roll. The Phillies, Orioles, Yankees and Dodgers are thought to be interested, as are many others.
2. Mason Miller, A’s: Oakland isn’t anxious to trade him with five more years of control.
3. Garrett Crochet, White Sox: The reliever-turned-starter is drawing huge interest, and teams that worry about his innings could convert him to the pen.
4. Carlos Estevez, Angels: Solid, under-the-radar type.
5. Kenley Jansen, Red Sox: They’re contending so a trade is no certainty now. The Dodgers and Padres like him.
6. Pete Fairbanks, Rays: Great stuff and a fun personality.
7. Michael Kopech, White Sox: Production hasn’t matched powerful arm yet.
