Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) definitely got everyone’s attention when he announced that he had proposed to his girlfriend of a year, Mindy Noce, and “she said yes.”
In the now viral post on X, the prior GOP presidential hopeful shared two pictures taken at South Carolina’s Kiawah Island after he got down on one knee during a beach walk at sunset and asked Noce if she would marry him.
“She said YES,” Scott wrote on X. “Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world.”
He then included a Bible verse from Proverbs 18:22 which read, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”
Speaking about the engagement, Scott told the Washington Post, “As a guy who is mostly an introvert and on the quiet side, having to have a conversation about the engagement is a little, you know, uncomfortable in a way, but it’s the most exciting thing I’lll do with my life besides making Jesus my Lord.”
“I’ve been very patient and prayerful, and I’m really excited and somewhat nervous, and I couldn’t be more thankful for having found a soul mate and someone who shares a lot of the same interests, passions and goals that I do,” he added.
She said YES.
Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world.

Scott and Noce started dating a year ago after meeting through a Bible study at their church, The Hill reported.
The senator’s relationship status became a focal point of the 2024 Election after Scott threw his hat in the ring for the presidency, with people noting that he would be the first unmarried president in at least a century, The Hill noted.
At the time, he would only talk about the “lovely Christian girl,” he was dating without naming her. Two months later, she finally joined him on stage during a presidential debate in November.
Scott later dropped out of the race and has since endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination. Speculation recently surfaced that Scott could be named Trump’s Vice President, the outlet noted.
