Scottie Scheffler was detained by police and handcuffed by officers outside of Valhalla Golf Club ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, who witnessed the incident.
Darlington said the police officer acted “very quickly, very rapidly, very aggressively” on ESPN’s broadcast.
Scheffler was trying to get to the course for Friday’s second round, which has been delayed at least an hour by a fatal bus crash.
Schefller’s incident was unrelated to the crash.
