A young fan decked out in a highly decorated Girl Scouts Daisy uniform couldn’t contain her excitement when superstar Sabrina Ionescu brought her onto the court on Friday night.
The girl stood courtside while Ionescu and the New York Liberty warmed up before their matchup against the Washington Mystics at Barclays Center.
Every time Ionescu passed by, the little girl gave her a thumbs up and cheered her on.
Ionescu returned the sentiment each time, and in a heartwarming moment, invited the fan onto the floor to say hello.
In a moment she will never forget, the little girl ran up to Ionescu and hugged her before bouncing back to her seat, smiling ear to ear.
“This why these ladies are best stars in the game,” wrote one user on X.

It’s been a solid start for the Liberty this year, as they held a 5-2 record before Friday’s game.
On a personal note, Ionescu and the Liberty agreed to a two-year contract extension earlier this month.
The Liberty have already designated their six guaranteed salaries to other players, so Ionescu’s raise will be unprotected.
