Rebel Wilson claims a Hollywood actor has “threatened her” after she revealed her plan to name him in her forthcoming memoir over his previous behavior on set.
She has previously mentioned that an entire chapter in her book, Rebel Rising, will be dedicated to a “massive a**hole” she had worked with in the past.
Now, the Australian actress has spoken out on social media, claiming that the yet-unnamed man has hired a whole team to try to stop her.
On her Instagram Stories, she said: “Now the a**hole is trying to threaten me. He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He’s trying to stop press coming out about my new book. But the book WILL come out and you will all know the truth.”
According to News.com.au, when the Pitch Perfect star first spoke about the experience, she said it made her adopt a “no a**holes” policy for American job offers going forward.
“When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, ‘Yeah, I have a no-aholes policy that means, like, I don’t work with aholes’. I was like, ‘Yeah, I mean, that sounds sensible and logical.’”
“But then it really sunk in what they were meaning by that, older people in the industry. Because I worked with a massive ahole, and, yeah, now I definitely have a aholes policy. Chapter on said ahole – it is chapter 23, that guy was a massive ahole.”
Aside from her memoir, Wilson has been working on her directorial debut Deb, a screen adaptation of Hannah Reilly’s and Meg Washington’s stage musical about the trials and tribulations of awkward adolescence. Wilson is directing and starring in the movie as well as co-writing with Reilly and Washington. Hal Cumpston and Karis Oka are also set to star.
Wilson’s memoir Rebel Rising is due out April 2.
