SAN JOSE, Calif. — Filip Chytil is one step closer to a potential return.
According to a league source, the Rangers center is on his way back to New York after roughly a three-week spell in his home country of Czechia recovering from a suspected concussion.
There is still no timetable on Chytil’s return to the Rangers lineup, or when he’ll resume practicing with the team.
After the organization sent him home with hopes that a change of scenery would help, however, it’s a positive development in what first appeared to be a bleak situation.
Chytil will miss his 37th straight game when the Rangers take on the Sharks Tuesday night at SAP Center.
