Prince William has previously dodged questions about Kate Middleton amid the uproar about her whereabouts and her cancer announcement – but he’s finally answering some questions.
On Tuesday, the Prince of Wales, 41, chatted with some fans while he did a walkabout and stopped by James’ Place Newcastle.
Two women sporting Union Jack flags on their outfits asked the Prince about Kate Middleton, 42, and their three kids Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6.
“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” one woman asked him in footage shared to Instagram by the fan account WalesVideos.
“We’re all doing well, thank you,” William responded.
“And obviously Catherine?” the fan pressed.
“We’re all doing well,” Prince William said.
This outing was William’s third day of public engagements since Kate Middleton’s cancer announcement. He visited the mental health organization Jame’s Place and the 2022 Earthshot Prize Finalist Low Carbon Materials.
On March 22, Middleton stunned the world when she announced that she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” for an undisclosed form of cancer discovered during abdominal surgery.
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” the mother of three said in her video.
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”
The princess did not reveal what type of cancer she is battling, but insisted she is “well and getting stronger every day.”
She described her husband, Prince William, as a “great source of comfort and reassurance.”
This health update came after she hadn’t been spotted in public since January, prompting mass speculation and conspiracy theories about her whereabouts.
In the immediate aftermath, Prince William took a step back from duties to support his sick wife, but has since returned to royal life with an appearance at a food distribution charity in Surrey, England in mid-April.
Princess Kate’s health battle comes as King Charles, 75, also battles an undisclosed form of cancer.
