Prince Harry stays at London hotel for Charles UK cancer visit: report

Prince Harry checked himself into a hotel room on his home soil after catching an urgent flight out of LAX to London following news of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, according to reports.

Despite having countless royal residences at his disposal, the Duke of Sussex opted to stay at a luxury London hotel that’s open to the public, the Daily Mail reports.

The father of two no longer has a royal residence in his name in the UK, after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, were forced to hand over the keys to Frogmore Cottage last year.

Harry, who touched down in London just after 2 p.m. local time Tuesday, was whisked away to see his ailing father upon arrival.

According to reports, the pair’s meeting lasted around 30 minutes.

A source told the outlet that Harry would have “gladly accepted” a meeting with his estranged brother Prince William, had there been an invite.

“The Duke’s primary reason to travel to the UK is to visit his father. If the opportunity were to arise to see the Prince of Wales then the Duke would have gladly accepted it,” the insider said.

The Post has reached out to the Duke of Sussex’s reps and Buckingham Palace for comment.

It’s not the first time Harry stayed in a hotel during a visit to the UK.

In September, the Duke checked into a hotel while in town to attend the Well Child Awards solo.

King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold exclusively told The Post Tuesday that Harry is no doubt feeling “worried” about his father’s ailing health, and his whirlwind trip to London is his way of “showing support.”

Harry is expected to head home to Montecito, Calif., in the coming days, where Markle currently remains with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The “Suits” alum, 42, decided not to join her husband on his urgent trip because she felt it’s “something he has to do alone,” Harrold told The Post.

“It’s his father. She’s aware of the close relationship and probably encouraged him to come over,” he added.

The Duke was set to jet off to Canada with Markle next week ahead of the Invictus Games training camp.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes will go ahead with the trip, or pull the plug on it altogether.
