Postal Service to release Betty White stamp

Betty White may soon be headed to your mailbox — the late legendary actor is poised to be honored with her own U.S. Postal Service (USPS) stamp.

An image of the “Golden Girls” star is among several new stamps that will be making their debut next year, the USPS announced Friday.

In a statement revealing the release of the forever stamp, the Postal Service called White an “icon of American television” who “shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades” and “gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s.”

The stamp’s digital illustration — based on a 2010 photograph of White — shows the performer grinning in front of a purple background.

White died at 99 in 2021.

Other stamps rolling out next year include an ode to songwriter Allen Toussaint as part of the Black Heritage series, a “Love” forever stamp featuring the artwork of Keith Haring, a Lunar New Year postage stamp marking the year of the snake and stamp-sized tributes to the Appalachian Trail and American vistas.

“This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts,” USPS stamp services director Lisa Bobb-Semple said in a statement.
