Patricia Heaton called on the United States to emulate France’s tribute to its citizens who were murdered in the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel.
The 65-year-old actress, who has been outspoken in her support for Israel following the terrorist attack on October 7 that left at least 1,200 Israelis dead, wrote on X, “I wish our government would do this for the American hostages…”
Her post included a video from a portion of the ceremony that took place at the Les Invalides memorial complex in Paris on Wednesday “in memory of the 42 French nationals” who were murdered.

In the clip, a violin and piano played in the background as the camera panned to photographs of the citizens who were killed in the attack. Loved ones of the victims were also in attendance.
During the ceremony, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the attack, calling it the “biggest antisemitic massacre of our century,” Times of Israel noted.
He labeled the attack, “barbarism… which is fed by antisemitism and propagates it.”
The French president also vowed that France would work “every day” for the release of the remaining French hostages and said, “Their empty chairs are there.”
“Nothing can justify or excuse terrorism,” he added. “All lives are equal, are invaluable in the eyes of France.”
The ceremony in its entirety can be seen here.

Following the terrorist attack, Heaton took to social media to support Israel and slam those who tried to defend Hamas terrorists.
She shared a video on X about it being a time for people to “stand up” for their “Jewish neighbors” and shared several links where people could contribute to help.
“We have that opportunity today,” the actress wrote. “Right now the Jewish people are being slaughtered by terrorists as we speak. Below I’ve listed some links where you can financially donate to aid in the struggle, supply hospitals, supply protective gear….”
