Multiple people shot at Ramadan event in Philadelphia

Multiple people have been shot at a Philadelphia event Wednesday meant to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan, reports said.

Fox29 reporter Steve Keeley told Fox News that police have made numerous arrests and recovered at least four guns.

Keeley wrote on the social media platform X that Philadelphia police told him the shooting occurred at 46th and Wyalusing Ave at a Ramadan event where hundreds were in attendance.

At least one Philadelphia police officer also fired a weapon, Keeley said.

Two victims were rushed by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with gunshot wounds and one of them is considered a possible suspect, CNN reported.

The hospital told police that at least three other people arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds, the outlet reported.

6ABC reported that there was a massive police presence underway in the area.

The Hill has reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department and the hospital for more information.

This is a developing story.
