MLB odds, picks, bets for Saturday

The free fallin’ White Sox are making a change to their pitching rotation by plugging Brad Keller into the mix for Saturday’s matinee against the Yankees.

Keller started one other game on May 3, hurling 102 pitches through only 4²/₃ innings, but allowed three runs on five hits against the Cardinals.

Chicago lost the game 3-0 with lack of run support having served as a key problem in its last-place standing in the AL.

Otherwise, Keller has earned his way out of the bullpen with just one earned run relinquished in eight total innings of relief.

The right-hander doesn’t collect many strikeouts, but he curbs exit velocity and elicits a frequent rate of ground balls by leaning on his slider.

He will oppose Luis Gil, who simply can do no wrong right now, posting a 0.49 ERA in his last three starts.

Gil ranks within the top 10 percent in both expected batting average and slug percentage — two categories that White Sox hitters have been dreadful in.

Behind Gil, the Yankees bullpen has been cruising to a second-lowest 2.59 ERA.

This game presents little to no value on the spread or moneyline.

Chicago’s deprivation of offense against a tough staff in itself points toward the Under, all while Keller’s durability in a big opportunity presents an added incentive.

The play: Yankees-White Sox Under 8.5 (-120, FanDuel Sportsbook)
