Mitchell Robinson ruled out of Game 3 vs. 76ers with ankle injury

The Knicks won’t have center Mitchell Robinson for the rest of Game 3 against the 76ers, as he was ruled out with a sprained ankle.

Robinson checked out of the game with 3:17 remaining in the second quarter — after he was called for a foul — and didn’t return after halftime.

It appeared that Robinson might’ve aggravated the ankle injury while attempting to defend a Joel Embiid jumper and got tangled with the star center.

In 12 minutes off the bench, Robinson finished with two points and seven rebounds.

This wasn’t a new injury for Robinson, as he missed 51 regular season games due to ankle injuries, including the final absence just two games after making his initial return.

Without Robinson in the lineup, the Knicks turned to Isaiah Hartenstein, and he has continued to start in the playoffs.

The Knicks trailed the 76ers in Game 3 early in the fourth quarter.
