Noteworthy items during the Mets’ Grapefruit League action on Sunday:
Rough finale
Sean Reid-Foley, a candidate for a spot in the Mets’ bullpen, allowed all three batters he faced to reach base in the Mets’ 5-1 split-squad loss to the Marlins in Jupiter, Fla. The right-hander, who recently battled biceps discomfort, was pitching in his first Grapefruit League since March 9. He was removed after 23 pitches.
Diaz Dazzles
After walking two batters in his previous Grapefruit League appearance, Edwin Diaz pitched a perfect sixth inning in the Mets’ 10-1 victory over the Nationals at Clover Park.
Caught my eye
Tylor Megill concluded his spring with a second straight blah pitching line. The right-hander allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks over five innings against the Marlins. But Megill also struck out seven batters.
Monday’s schedule
The Mets conclude the Grapefruit League with a game against the Yankees in Tampa.
