Melissa McCarthy brushed off Barbra Streisand questioning if she was on Ozempic.
“I think Barbra is a treasure — and I love her,” the “Bridesmaid” star told paparazzi Tuesday, per TMZ.
McCarthy’s swift response comes after the “Funny Girl” actress faced intense backlash for publicly asking on Instagram if her close pal was taking the Type II diabetes weight-loss drug.
On Monday, McCarthy, 53, shared a snap of herself and choreographer Adam Shankman outside of the Center Theater Group Gala as she donned a pastel tulle dress with a matching blazer.

Streisand, 82, responded to the stunning photo in the comments, writing, “Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?”
The “Way We Were” star quickly deleted her comment after fans harshly weighed in.
“Babs typing away on IG like my elderly mom telling me she text someone something, and me explaining: ‘No, mom, you wrote it on FB on your wall for all to see 😂😂,” one person wrote.
“Major boomer aunt with wine and an ipad energy,” a second joked.
“Babs. No, honey. Just n,” another added.
It wasn’t long until Streisand took to her Instagram Story to address the critics, writing, “OMG – I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday!”
She continued, “Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!”
McCarthy has been open about her body image over the years, admitting she has been “every size on the planet.”
The “Gilmore Girls” star has even attempted an all-liquid diet, losing 70 pounds in the process. However, she claimed she’d “never” try again.
She also once lost 50 pounds by simply reshaping the way she thinks, telling Life & Style at the time, “I truly stopped worrying about it.”
“I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked.”
