Meghan McCain is sounding off on her not-so-nice experience with Jennifer Lopez.
The View alum gave her take on Lopez on Friday’s (June 7) installment of her Citizen McCain podcast, where she mentioned that her podcast’s “most-viewed TikTok” was of McCain “admitting that J. Lo coming on The View was not [her] favorite by a lot.”
“I, too, share similar negative stories that apparently the entire world does too,” she shared, per HuffPost. “I actually feel bad right now because we’re turning a point where there’s bullying happening to J. Lo, and I don’t want to add to that. She just is a deeply unpleasant person.”
McCain — who left The View in 2021 — claimed Lopez had “the biggest entourage” of a celebrity that she had ever seen on the show, claiming that it was “more than Kim Kardashian and more than the president.”
“I just don’t really understand why it was needed,” she continued.
She and her podcast co-host, Miranda Wilkins, shared that Lopez allegedly had their TikTok video “taken down,” but that it was eventually “put back up.”
“She had it taken down for like terms of violation for bullying, and I just said she had a huge entourage and she was not my favorite guest I’ve ever interviewed,” McCain said. “That’s like the direct quote, and it was taken down for bullying, allegedly.”
Decider reached out to a representative for Lopez for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.
According to Entertainment Weekly, TikTok’s “reporting process involves both automatic detection technology as well as a system that allows other users to report videos.” The outlet noted that, under the current guidelines, “there is no way for McCain or Wilkins to know who reported their video, as that process is anonymous.”
A representative for McCain shared the following with EW: “We do not know how or why we received a violation notice. We pressed ‘appeal’ and the video was reinstated in a few hours.”
McCain later reiterated her own experience, claiming that Lopez “was not nice” while appearing on The View.
“You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was just surprising given that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful,” she said. “And also, when you’re coming on a show for like a 10-minute segment… just fake it til you make it for 10 fucking minutes.”
McCain has not only been vocal about Lopez, but her former View co-hosts, as well. She recently called out Sara Haines for referencing her on the show during a discussion about Dr. Anthony Fauci, concluding her post by writing, “These women will never quit me.”
