‘Live Your Truth, Queen!’: ‘The Daily Show’ Mocks Jesus In Defense Of ‘Trans Day Of Visibility’

“The Daily Show” senior correspondent Desi Lydic mocked Jesus in her defense of the White House’s decision to move forward with recognizing the “Transgender Day of Visibility” despite the fact that it coincided with Easter Sunday.

Lydic appeared to be arguing that because Christians believe in a triune God — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — they were essentially worshipping a being that embraced multiple identities and that was the same as embracing radical gender ideology.

Grabien founder Tom Elliott shared several clips on the subject, beginning with an MSNBC panel discussion claiming that “the Jesus [Christians] celebrate today would have been inclusive of the transgender community.”

Elliott followed with a clip of Lydic addressing the topic: “By total coincidence, Trans Visibility Day happened to fall on Easter this year. Which seemed like, I don’t know, a good fit to me. I mean, Jesus did identify as the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. Live your truth, queen!”

“Now, you wouldn’t think that Easter falling on a holiday that’s been March 31st for 15 years would be that big of a deal,” Lydic continued. “But conservatives processed this like a child meeting the Easter Bunny: by losing their f**king minds.”

A number of conservatives did criticize Biden for going ahead with Trans Visibility Day despite the fact that it fell on what is arguably the holiest day in the Christian calendar — particularly when he went out of his way to post several times on X in support of the trans community while his administration only mentioned the Easter holiday in passing.

“Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, I have a simple message to all trans Americans: I see you. You are made in the image of God, and you’re worthy of respect and dignity,” one such post read.

“Correctly saying trans people are made in the image of God while simultaneously celebrating these same people for altering God’s perfect & intentional creation is 100% blasphemous. On EASTER nonetheless … ‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked,’” Riley Gaines posted in response.
