Lisa Vanderpump Shuts Down Jax Taylor’s Claim That ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Is Scripted, Suggests Taylor “Writes His Own Scripts”

Lisa Vanderpump is firing back at Jax Taylor‘s off-handed claim that Vanderpump Rules is scripted.

Taylor, who starred in the first eight seasons of the Emmy-nominated Bravo series, was hosting a recent watch party at his bar in Studio City when he made the outlandish accusations about the show.

“They don’t even hang out with each other. Show me a scripted show and I’ll show you fucking Vanderpump Rules,” he said in a TikTok video shared by a fan. “I’ve been on this show for nine fucking years, this is scripted. I’ll be on next week, and I’ll tell you what: it was scripted!”

The Valley star did, in fact, make a cameo in Tuesday night’s (April 23) episode of Vanderpump Rules, where editors hilariously dubbed him an “ex-SUR employee” in his lower thirds description. While co-hosting a brunch at his former workplace, Vanderpump confronted him for speaking poorly about her in the media. Although they appeared to let bygones be bygones by the end of the conversation, Taylor’s mouth seems to have gotten him in trouble with Vanderpump once again.

“This is disastrous. Don’t get me wrong, when we started, it was awesome,” he added, referring to Vanderpump Rules. “About seasons 1 through 6, it was organic, it was real. Now everybody starts to have money, now it becomes fake. Everything after six seasons is a wash, it’s a fucking wash.”

When The Valley came on the screens, he exclaimed, “Now you have a real show! Back to where we started. It’s organic, it’s real. These are all brand-new people. We’re all struggling. Here we go!”

Vanderpump was later asked about her former employee’s remarks, which she described as “absolutely ridiculous” in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“Nobody can write a script like Vanderpump Rules,” she said. “Maybe what Jax says is scripted. Maybe he sits at home, in his little bedroom and writes his own scripts. Well, what do I know? Anyway, for the most part, anything Jax says doesn’t make any sense to me.”

Taylor ultimately apologized for claiming the show was scripted in his and his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright‘s podcast When Reality Hits, noting that Vanderpump Rules is “the most authentic” reality show on TV, per ET.

“I have a big mouth, and it gets me in trouble from time to time,” he said. “I regretfully went on a rant about how Vanderpump Rules is scripted. I’m incredibly embarrassed by that.”

Vanderpump Rules airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, while you can catch Taylor in The Valley every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
