From Team Taylor to Team Kim.
Lana Del Rey appeared to pick a side in the feud between Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian — at least for one night — at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday.
The “Born to Die” singer, 38, was memorably featured on the song “Snow on the Beach” from Swift’s 10th studio album, “Midnights,” in 2022. The duo also attended the 2024 Grammy Awards together and partied at the Super Bowl earlier this year.
However, Del Rey decided to hang out with Kardashian, 43, at the Met.
The “Love Story” singer seemingly shaded Kardashian in her song “thanK you aIMee” from her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Del Rey and Kardashian — who previously worked together on a Valentine’s Day SKIMS campaign — stood together for an interview with Vogue on the Met Gala red carpet, where Del Rey mentioned that the stars had “sister corset shapes going on.”
Del Rey wore an Alexander McQueen sheath gown with a dramatic headpiece.
Kardashian, for her part, had on a skin-tight, corseted Margiela number with a matching grey sweater.
The duo also bonded over family after Kardashian said she was excited to see her sisters at the star-studded event.
“That makes me so happy,” Del Rey told Kardashian. “This day and age that is so rare — I have my sister at the hotel who was shooting everything with us at the hotel, my brother taking video. When our families worked together for SKIMS. I love that you’re on a group chat.”
Kardashian added, “That’s one thing we talked about. Having our family close and always there no matter what has kept us super grounded.”
Del Rey also stopped on the carpet to talk to a reporter from Entertainment Tonight, who asked the singer to share her favorite song from Swift’s new album.
“It’s the one uhh, “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,’ ” Del Rey replied, after taking a moment to think about her answer.
“Whatever that title was,” she added.
Swift’s feud with the reality star began years ago when Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009. In 2016, he released the song “Famous” and claimed that Swift signed off on the lyrics: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous.”
After Swift denied this, Kardashian released a recording of a conversation which seemed to indicate that Swift was lying and had given the couple the green light. Kardashian also implied Swift was a “snake.”
Last year, Swift called the incident a “frame job,” and revealed that she moved to “a foreign country,” where she “didn’t leave a rental house for a year” because of the drama.
“I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore,” she revealed in her 2023 Time magazine Person of the Year cover story. “I went down really, really hard.”
Swift reignited her feud with Kardashian by releasing “thanK you aIMee,” which spells out “Kim” with the three capitalized letters.
The song seemingly compared Kardashian to a high school bully, and noted that it was never a “fair fight” or a “clean kill” between the two.
Kardashian has yet to publicly address the track.
