Kelly Ripa is ready to bust a move “on the floor” with Jennifer Lopez herself.
The Atlas star appeared on this morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark, where she told Ripa, Mark Consuelos, and viewers about her upcoming “baby tour.”
“It’s like 28 shows I’m doing across the United States,” she explained. “I haven’t been on tour in a while, so I figured, like, let me get out there. I have new music, let me just kind of put it out there.”
Ripa asked Lopez if she’s “pre-exhausted” just thinking about rehearsal. While Lopez said she was, she also highlighted some recent prep of hers that may alleviate some of her worries.
“Well I just finished a movie called Kiss of the Spider Woman, where it was all singing and dancing and everything,” she shared. “Which was exhilarating — equal parts exhilarating and exhausting, as well.”
Ripa added, “But those muscles are still in shape,” which Lopez confirmed.
“Now I’m ready to go,” she replied. “I’m like the thinnest I’ve ever been. I’m like in fighting shape right now.”
Ripa chimed in, “I don’t think people realize when a performer goes on tour, like how … that’s the diet and exercise plan everyone should be on.”
Lopez replied, “It’s constantly moving, it’s traveling, it’s doing two hours of exertion every night. It’s a time when I get in a really good, healthy shape.”
She also teased that she’s been “thinking about” her plans for the show, “mapping it out” and and crafting a setlist.
“I always like making a very exciting show,” she shared. “I don’t like people to ever [be] like, ‘Oh, this is a part of the show where we can go get soda.’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to miss this part!’ That’s how I kind of build the show.”
Lopez then noted that “after this whole trip” she plans to “go straight into rehearsal from now until the first show.”
Ripa then teased, “If you need a backup dancer…,” telling Lopez that she is available, a suggestion the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” singer was onboard with.
“Oh, yes! I always need a backup dancer,” she said, before attempting to rope in Consuelos, as well. “I need two!”
Consuelos quipped that he’ll be the “backup backup” dancer.
