Oops! Kelly Clarkson is eating her words after an accidentally suggestive slip-up on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson welcomed Henry Golding to her daytime show on Thursday (April 18). Golding, who knew that Clarkson’s show moved from Los Angeles to New York City last fall, asked the host for some input after revealing that he treated himself to a “pastrami sandwich” for breakfast.
“Is that like a morning thing to do for New Yorkers, no?” he asked.
After receiving some pushback from Clarkson and the live studio audience, he continued, “OK, so that’s a faux pas? Damn it! I just felt like a pastrami sandwich.”
Clarkson asked, “Did someone stop you and say, ‘Oh, it’s a classic thing we do here’?”
Golding said no, noting that he had “called [his] friend” and told him that he was “getting a pastrami sandwich” for breakfast.
“They’re like, ‘That is the strangest thing, that’s weird,’” he recalled. “Meat, first thing in the morning, no good.”
Clarkson then countered with “steak and eggs,” before accidentally delving into NSFW territory.
“I don’t mind meat in the morning,” she said, eventually beginning to chuckle as she put together what she had just uttered on live TV. Although she attempted to continue, embarrassment got the best of her, and she stood up.
The audience got a kick out of it, as did Golding, who quipped, “Wait a second. Hold on.”
Clarkson apologized, but The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare star continued busting her chops. He teased, “We gotta get a fan for you, Kelly. You look a little hot under the collar.”
Still dumbfounded, Clarkson exclaimed, “Seriously? Those are the words I used? I was like, ‘Did I just say that?’”
She eventually conceded, “It’s not a bad thing though,” before continuing on with her chat with Golding.
While Clarkson was the one feeling embarrassed this time around, she made Andy Cohen sheepish during his Feb. 29 appearance on her show after playing a video of him as a go-go dancer for the B-52’s. Cohen explained that he “did go-go dance for the B-52’s twice just as a lark for fun,” but he confessed that “the idea of dancing in public absolutely terrifies” him now.
