San Diego State vs. UConn pick
After playing each other in the national championship game last year, the No. 1 seed UConn Huskies play the No. 5 seed San Diego State Aztecs in the Sweet 16 on Thursday.
Fanatics Sportsbook is favoring UConn by 11 points and I can’t argue with that. The Huskies have looked absolutely dominant in this tournament and I don’t see them slowing down in front of a partisan crowd in Boston.
UConn’s 75-58 win over Northwestern was not as close as the final score indicates, as the Huskies led by 30 points at one point in the second half. This team has it all with shooting, size, defense, playmaking and experience, and when it all comes together it’s beautiful basketball.

San Diego State grounded out a close win over UAB in the first round, then flexed its muscles against Yale on Sunday night. The Aztecs are a good team that plays great defense, but UConn can still roll over a team of their caliber. That said, SDSU forward Jaedon LeDee (29 PPG 8.5 APG this tourney) has been an absolute force and should present some problems for the Huskies.
