Joy Behar Sends ‘The View’ Into Hysterics With Awkward Dig At Lara Trump: “Was That Wrong Of Me?”

You’d think the co-hosts of The View would be used to Joy Behar‘s off-color comments by now, but the comedian continues to send her colleagues into hysterics with her one-liners. This morning, moderator Whoopi Goldberg could barely get a word in before Behar struck, uttering a quip about Republican National Committee Co-Chair Lara Trump.

Behar’s comment came after the show played a clip of Trump’s interview with NBC News in which she claimed the RNC was “past” the stolen election claims of 2020.

“The past is the past and unfortunately, we had to learn a couple of hard lessons in 2020. Believe me, we are taking those, we are applying them all across this country and every single state, and we want to ensure that indeed, every single legal vote is counted,” Trump — who is the wife of Eric Trump and daughter-in-law of Donald Trump — told NBC News.

Once the clip concluded, Behar immediately seized the chance to say, “She speaks out of both sides of her lips!”

The studio audience laughed at her joke, and Behar even broke into a grin herself, before looking out into the studio and asking, “Was that wrong of me?”

She was met with silence, but her co-hosts continued to chuckle at her remark, including Goldberg, who smiled and looked down at the table while shaking her head. When Goldberg tried to move the conversation along, raising a finger and saying, “But, RNC job applicants—” she couldn’t get much further as she broke into laughter again.

Thankfully, Goldberg pulled herself together like the EGOT winner she is and finished her sentence, telling the panel, “RNC job applicants are reportedly claiming they were asked in their interviews if they believe that the election was stolen.”

The panel then debated the ethics of reportedly asking job candidates their views on the 2020 election, with Alyssa Farah Griffin accusing the organization of trying to recruit “loyalists,” and Sunny Hostin saying, “it seems to me like there are certain questions that you can’t ask when you’re interviewing … I wonder if you can ask that.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
