Jenna Bush Hager had a case of the Monday blues during this morning’s broadcast of Today With Hoda & Jenna.
The daytime host appeared to have hit her breaking point while answering viewers’ questions with her co-host Hoda Kotb during their regular segment, Girl Code.
A viewer wrote in, “My friend Phoebe broke up with her longtime boyfriend Jack because he wouldn’t put a ring on it. Jack says he’s lost without Phoebe and now she wants to take him back. I can’t support her when I know she’s making a mistake. What do I do?”
Bush Hager attempted to offer some advice to the viewer, but instead decided to cut the entire segment short.
“Y’all one day Jack might, – I don’t know,” she said, cutting herself off. “I’m too tired. It’s a Monday and I sort of think you should stay out of Jack and Phoebe’s relationship. It ain’t you! It ain’t you!”
Kotb began to laugh as she replied, “I agree, I agree, because if you put your foot in the middle of their relationship and then they end up getting married, you’re out.”
But Bush Hager had other things on her mind. “We’re too tired. I don’t’ know, I really don’t. I can’t answer anybody’s Girl Code, I’m at my max,” she exclaimed.
Her reaction appeared to shock Kotb, who laughed as her co-host declared that she was “at capacity.”
“Just let them – whatever! Whatever!” Bush Hager yelled as she once again tried to offer some advice. She later ominously warned, “I think I’m done with Girl Code for a little bit.”
This appeared to shock Kotb, who replied, “No you’re not, we love Girl Code!”
“I love it, but I just can’t. It’s just today,” Bush Hager responded through laughter.
The Today co-hosts could not hold back their laughter as they threw it to commercial. Kotb implored viewers to write in to be featured in the next Girl Code segment, promising that they’ll “do it on a Tuesday” next time as not to bother Bush Hager.
The segment got off to an interesting start as Bush Hager took the time to point out that Kotb’s pants still had the security tag on them. “Hoda, you either stole those pants or they forgot to take off the security [tag],” she told Kotb, causing her to laugh.
Kotb admitted that she had been wearing the pants all morning without anybody noticing. “Well, they may not be paying attention to you the way I pay attention to you,” Bush Hager responded.
