Patrons of Jax Taylor’s new bar, Jax’s Studio City, have been leaving negative reviews about the food and service via Yelp.
Since opening the Los Angeles-based sports bar in October 2023, the “Valley” star has been on the receiving end of plenty of frustrated comments from guests.
“terrible service. waited over 2 hours for food. never got it but all the sections did. didn’t even receive an apology for the terrible service,” one person wrote, giving the establishment a one-star review.
“Everyone was so rude, we were SO DISAPPOINTED. We had left after 10 minutes and will never go back. Definitely need to hire better people to represent your bar. Not a good look. Never had such a horrible experience,” another user, who also left a one-star rating, commented.
“absolutely everything sucked. from food to staff to space to owner. i will never be returning,” a third unhappy customer wrote.
“I hate to leave bad reviews but I have to be honest, this place was not good! I didn’t even have high expectations after word of mouth. The food was barely edible besides the pretzel. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the sliders, the beer cheese or the nacho cheese. I actually don’t even think either were cheese,” another person shared, but added that the “wine pours were decent.”
Many users also claimed that the bar is sometimes randomly closed, so it’s “difficult to predict when they’ll be open.”
“I have tried to go here 4 times and they are never open. Or it will say they open at 8pm and when we show up for a drink, they are closed. It’s strange,” someone explained.
However, the bar did receive several five-star reviews from customers who received better service and drinks than the other patrons.
“Great food, great vibe and strong cocktails just the way it should be. Service here is solid. We waited only a few minutes for cocktails and food came out under 12 mins. It was a pleasant experience and recommend this any day,” a happy customer wrote, leaving a five-star review.
“Been here twice and enjoyed it both times. Never too crowded, good drinks and food and very friendly staff!” another user raved.
“We had the best time at Jax’s! The drinks were great with lots of choices and heavy pours. A bunch of the cast from The Valley were there and were so friendly and excited to hang out with everyone.
The space is very cool with lots of seating and plenty of staff taking drink orders, etc. We can’t wait to go back!” someone else gushed.
“This whole staff was so accommodating and friendly! Came back twice in one day on vacation and will come back again!!!!!! Ambiance was amazing!!! FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!” one person commented.
Reps for Taylor and the bar did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Taylor, 44, recently faced backlash when a video circulated of himself and his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, changing son Cruz’s diaper on top of a “food prep area” in the bar.
The US Sun later reported that people complained to the Department of Public Health, and they have since launched an investigation.
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum has also not addressed the viral video or the alleged investigation.
Taylor’s soft opening for friends and family was shown on the Season 1 finale of “The Valley” on Tuesday.
