Jamal Murray flings heat pack onto court during Nuggets-Timberwolves Game 2

Jamal Murray let his frustrations get the better of him on Monday night during the second quarter of Game 2 between the Timberwolves and Nuggets.

Facing a potential 0-2 hole in the Western Conference semifinals and already down 17 points with just under five minutes to go in the first half, the refs seemed to miss a potential travel call on Karl-Anthony Towns before he attempted a floater to extend the T-Wolves lead to 19.

The Timberwolves ended up winning the game 106-80 and Murry finished with just eight points.

The shot didn’t drop, but Minnesota pulled down its own rebound and eventually, Towns made a layup to make it 49-30, but at the same time an object could be seen flying onto the court.

The ref seemed to flinch when what was eventually identified as a heat pack went whizzing by and a Nuggets player quickly moved it off the court as Denver tried to inbounds the ball.

The refs stopped the play momentarily and Reggie Miller on TNT broadcast quickly identified Murray as the culprit who let the heat pack fly onto the court.

Murray seemed to stand up and seemed to be waving his hand angrily over the non-travel call on Towns when his arm flung forward and the heat pack went flying toward the game action.

It wasn’t abundantly clear that Murray had meant to launch the object onto the playing surface.
