Dev Patel directs and stars in Monkey Man, a new action thriller that’s coming to theaters this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch it!
Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, Monkey Man follows Kid (Patel) — an anonymous young man who earns a living by getting beaten up in an underground fight club while wearing a gorilla mask. However, his desire for vengeance takes over when he decides to exact revenge on a group of corrupt leaders who are responsible for his mother’s death.
So, will Monkey Man be on Netflix? What about Max?
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:
WHERE TO WATCH MONKEY MAN:
As of now, the only way to watch Monkey Man is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, April 5. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon, or becomes available to stream on Peacock. Read on for more information.
WHEN WILL MONKEY MAN BE ON STREAMING? WILL MONKEY MAN BE ON PEACOCK?
Yes, Monkey Man will eventually be available to stream on Peacock. Since Universal movies like Cocaine Bear have come to Peacock around 45 days after their release, you can expect Monkey Man to join the streamer as soon as mid-May 2024. However, other movies like Night Swim have taken a little longer to reach the streamer (about three months, to be exact) so it’s best to take this estimate with a grain of salt.
WILL MONKEY MAN BE ON HBO MAX?
No, Monkey Man will not be on Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. The platform — previously known as HBO Max — also no longer does direct-to-streaming releases. Instead, they’ve implemented a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the Max release.
WILL MONKEY MAN BE ON NETFLIX?
No, Monkey Man will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to stream on Peacock.
