A new masked killer is coming to a big screen near you when Founders Day premieres later this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this new political slasher!
Hailing from the Bloomquist Brothers, Founders Day follows a series of unexplainable killings in a small town gearing up for its mayoral election. With a masked murderer on the loose, the citizens work to “uncover the truth before fear consumes the town,” per the movie’s logline.
So, where can you watch Founders Day? Is it on Prime Video? What about Netflix?
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:
WHERE TO WATCH FOUNDERS DAY:
As of now, the only way to watch Founders Day is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, Jan. 19. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon.
WHEN WILL FOUNDERS DAY BE STREAMING? WILL FOUNDERS DAY BE ON PRIME VIDEO?
Yes, Founders Day will eventually be available to rent or buy on Prime Video. While a release date has not yet been announced, most movies typically come to digital platforms around 45 days after they’re released in theaters. If Founders Day follows the same trajectory, we could be watching it from the comfort of our living rooms by early March 2024.
WILL FOUNDERS DAY BE ON HBO MAX?
No, Founders Day will not be on Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. The platform — previously known as HBO Max — also no longer does direct-to-streaming releases. Instead, they’ve implemented a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the Max release.
WILL FOUNDERS DAY BE ON NETFLIX?
No, Founders Day will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. While it’s possible the film may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on digital platforms in the meantime.
