Leave the borrowed jewels to the movie stars.
Page Six hears that Indian billionaire and philanthropist Sudha Reddy — who’s walking the red carpet at the Met Gala tonight — will be wearing her “Amore Eterno” 180-carat diamond necklace for the event, featuring a 25-carat heart-shaped diamond, plus and three more 20-carat heart-shaped diamonds representing her industrialist husband and their two kids.
Then of course there will be her 23-carat diamond solitaire ring and her 20-carat diamond solitaire ring, said to be worth $20 million between them.
And they will all be part of an ensemble with a custom-embroidered gown that, we’re told, took 4500 hours to make. (That’s about six months of labor).
Reddy, the wife of MEIL manufacturing founder P.V. Krishna Reddy, is a major supporter of the Costume Institute and we’re told she was among those thanked at an intimate cocktail party hosted by The Met’s Andrew Bolton Saturday night.
She’s reportedly also been an executive at MEIL since her marriage to Krishna in the Nineties.
She also attended the Met Gala in 2021.
She told Hello! India that year, “Jewellery is an essential part of my lifestyle. I love anything OTT and haute couture. Most South Indian households have a strong affinity towards jewellery, and let’s say I’m an avid connoisseur. Farah Khan has made some bespoke pieces for me in the past, as has Gautam Ji from Jaipur. He knows I like big rocks, which he gets for me from around the world.”
