Former federal prosecutor Preet Bharara said over the weekend that President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is in serious trouble in his federal trial that starts this week over alleged gun crimes.
Bharara, a Democrat who served in the Southern District of New York during the Obama era, made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CBS News’s “Face The Nation” with host Margaret Brennan.
“Tomorrow, in another unusual situation our country is in, the Biden Justice Department will begin a trial in Delaware against the president’s son, where Hunter faces three felony gun possession charges, maximum 25 years prison,” Brennan said. “How much hot water is he in here?”

Bharara responded, “He’s in substantial hot water because he’s been charged federally,” noting that the case was very serious given that “you have the son of the sitting president of the United States of America going to trial at the hands of his own Justice Department.”
