Vice President Harris was projected to defeat former President Trump in Oregon, according to Decision Desk HQ, adding eight Electoral College votes to the Democrat’s column.
Oregon has voted blue in every presidential election since 1988, and it was considered a safe Democratic state for Harris heading into Election Day.
President Biden beat Trump in the Beaver State by 16 points back in 2020, improving on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 11-point margin a cycle earlier.
Oregon is also the site of a critical toss-up House race in the 5th Congressional District, where incumbent Republican Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer pulled off a flip during the midterms. Now, Democrats see the seat as a prime pickup opportunity for Democrat Janelle Bynum, who previously bested Chavez-DeRemer in two state legislature races.
