It’s official this time.
After entering the transfer portal, ex-LSU and Louisville star Hailey Van Lith has officially committed to TCU, she announced on her social media on Friday.
“The pen has officially hit the paper,” she wrote on X and Instagram with a video of her in a TCU jersey.
This concludes a confusing time in the portal where it appeared that Van Lith was headed to TCU last week, which took a slight twist days later, but she’s now officially becoming a member of the Horned Frogs.
LSU head coach Kim Mulkey recently discussed Van Lith leaving the squad after an up-and-down season, which ended against Iowa in the Elite Eight, where the fifth-year guard was on the receiving end of 41 points and 12 assists from Caitlin Clark.
While Van Lith was at Louisville in 2022-23, that season ended in similar fashion — in the Elite Eight against the Hawkeyes, where Clark erupted for 41 points and 12 assists.
“She wanted to improve her strengths by coming to LSU with a goal of expanding her game by learning a position that I played my entire life,” Mulkey said of Van Lith. “Because she knows at the next level that’s her only chance — to be able to tell them somewhat, ‘I can handle the ball if you need me to.’”
Van Lith was part of a stacked 2020 high school recruiting class, placed No. 7 in the country in ESPN’s rankings amongst the likes of Clarke, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, and Kamilla Cardoso.
Van Lith was a two-time first-team All-ACC honoree in 2022 and 2023 while at Louisville.
In her junior campaign, she averaged 19.7 points per game.
In Van Lith’s lone season at LSU, she posted 11.6 points and a career-best 3.6 assists per contest.
